June Recap: Favourites and Unfavourites

I know that we are well into the month of July, but I made a poll on twitter and the majority preferred a late June monthly recap to a giant mashup at the end of July.

So, it is officially summer, the sun is in full blast and I am not into it. Sadly, it will only get worse and I will only get sweatier. Luckily, I have a holiday planned in a few weeks, so I at least have something to look forward to!

Let’s see what I liked, what I didn’t like and what I felt meh about in June.

(I also had to rewrite this 3 times, because wordpress was being a little bitch, but we are good now. We’re cool.)

General:

RuPaul’s drag race. I watched (most) of the seasons. I wasn’t able to find all episodes of some, and I am currently waiting for season 10 to go on Netflix, because I crave the quality. Trying to keep the spoilers away. If you know where I can watch the whole of seasons 4, 5, 6 and 7 (I have 8 and 9 in Netflix), please do let me know. Preferably free, but I am willing to pay a reasonable fee for a month.

We attended a wedding right at the end of the month!

Beauty:

In June I received a huuuuge order from FeelUnique, with a lot of skincare. Some of the products I discuss here. I am still loving and using them, too! And since they are so many, I don’t have any new skincare additions in my routine.

Catrice Sun Glow matte bronzer. Such an affordable bronzer which I quite like. It gives me a nice sun-kissed look without making me orange. It’s quite buildable, too!

Essence Shine Shine Shine wet look lip gloss. I almost bought the clear LimeCrime Wet Cherry gloss. I almost spent $18 on a clear gloss. Now, don’t get me wrong, I apparently love spending money on unnecessary things (lol), but $18 for a clear gloss is way out of my spending comfort zone. So I went to the drugstore and started looking for at least a normal clear gloss. Which I couldn’t find. The only clear gloss I could find was the Essence wet look one and, boy, oh, boy, am I excited that I did. It cost me about 2.5EUR and it is perfect. It gives the shiniest and juiciest look to the lips, ‘wet’ is really the word that describes it best. As if you have just dribbled (disgusting, I know) some water from your mouth.

Fashion:

These H&M shoes (in black) is what I have been wearing in June. Since the weather was a bit grimy most of the time, I wore this pair of shoes… every single day. Not even exaggerating. And I almost didn’t buy them! That would’ve been a mistake, wouldn’t it?

Disappointments:

L’Oreal invisible dry shampoo. Did they call it invisible because it does nothing? I think so. This is hands down the worst dry shampoo I have ever used. It trampled over the Syoss one and snatched the ‘Worst product in the world’ award. It leaves a cloud of talc around you when you spray it and it feels like you’re going to choke to death. It doesn’t take the grease out of my 2nd day hair, I can’t even think of 3rd or 4th day (I dye my hair red, don’t judge me) – it doesn’t even give my hair texture, nothing. I will be sticking to my beloved Batiste one.

This is a tiny round up of things. What was your most favourite thing that happened in the month of June?

  8. Ahhh, it’s a shame about the dry shampoo. I don’t use it often because it’s really bad for your hair but superdrug’s own make one does and amazing job, it smells delish and it’s super cheap!

  9. Batiste is the queen of all dry shampoo.. I don’t think anything would ever sway me! And I feel you, wordpress has been messing with me. I’ve typed outt the same review 3 times and idk if I have the energy to do it again!!

  10. Most of the time, I find it super interesting to read posts similar to this. It certainly makes me aware of what other bloggers are feeling and what other people are up to. This is an awesome month recap.
