Diana off Duty

New in skincare

I recently got some skincare bits from Feelunique.com and I qualified for the monthly skincare gift with purchase. So I am now left with too much skincare and not enough skin for it. Since I don't want my skin to go all crazy on me by introducing too many things at once, I have decided to start slowly.

Here are the new skincare bits I am introducing in my routine for the month of July and my current thoughts on them.

The masque was the first new thing I introduced to my skin. It was very kindly gifted to me by the brand. I am working on a full review there, so keep your eyes peeled!

This is definitely the most exciting for me.

I deem it unnecessary to talk too much about the brand itself, as this brand has been on the community's radar for quite some time now. This is the first time I am using any kind of acid and for the couple of times I have applied this, I have noticed that my skin feels super soft and looks super glowy when I wake up in the morning. I also think this is the thing that got rid of the blackheads on my nose!

DianaoffDuty uses affiliate links and some items may have been gifted. This doesn't change my opinion.

As I explained in this post, I have never fake tanned before. This is the 50ml version, part from the Feelunique June gift with purchase. Now, I have used this only once, but so far so good. I had more luck with this than with the Dove lotion, as in it doesn't leave a sticky feeling afterwards. I did use it quite sparingly, though, as I am afraid I may turn too dark and I am not emotionally prepared to buy a new foundation yet.

This works really nice as a primer - I have used it a few times now and I notice that it blurs my pores a bit and my foundation lasts looking fresh just a couple of hours more. However, this thing smells so weirdly. It has a really strong scent of herbs and it lingers for quite a while (I can smell it until I apply my foundation). I don't like it when the things I put on my face have a strong scent, but I will try and use this up. Or toss it in a week. So glad this came as a sample before I spent my money on it.

skin laundry moisturising

I have just this year started using eye cream religiously. Now, I haven't tried too many, but this one is by far my favourite. It feels thick while you're putting it on, but it is just very moisturizing and sinks into the skin in seconds. I love it. Not sure about the renewing part and if it will get rid of any tiny wrinkles I have. But as a 24-year-old, I mostly look for hydration and that is what it does. I am happy with it.

First of all, I love that this has a broad spectrum SPF 35. Most moisturizers, especially the more reasonably priced ones, don't usually have broad spectrum SPF! Although, don't forget that moisturiser with SPF is not enough to protect you and you need to layer sunscreen underneath (here here I have a review of a great affordable one!) The moisturiser does a great job in hydrating, it sinks in quickly, and provides a nice base for foundation.

I am still not sure about this. It is not stripping, it really is gentle, but I don't feel like it does much. It is perfect for the morning, no lie. But after a day of wearing a full face, I need something that will take that last drop of makeup off of my skin (I double cleanse). I don't feel like this one does it. M Mixa gentle face wash feels like it does a better job for me.

  1. I really want to try things from the Ordinary but it’s always sold out on Sephora. It’s such an affordable brand and it’s cruelty-free, which is a big deal for me.

    Great list! x

    1. I am thinking of buying some more of their products! What else would you recommend from them?

  5. I had an awful experience when I tried the Lactic Acid from The Ordinary! It made my skin so dry and blotchy which I thought was odd as my skin usually loves lactic acid. I love the sound of that ask! And Emma Hardie is one of my favourite brands but I’ve never tried that product, I’ll have to add it to my list x

  6. I have not tried a lot of these products, and I’m reconsidering my life choices at the moment. Given I’m a skincare fanatic, why have I not heard of a lot of these!? xx adaatude.com

    1. This comment made me laugh! I would definitely recommend you try the Ordinary’s Lactic Acid and the Galloway and White face mask! I’d say skip on Emma Hardie if you don’t like strongly scented stuff xx

  7. Love this! I always love trying out new products. You never know when you are going to hit the jackpot. Great read and thanks for sharing it with us ?
