Diana off Duty

As you may know,, I recently went to Thessaloniki. Just as we were leaving, we realised that we didn’t have any SPF (I always forget to buy a replacement!) with us and were wondering where to buy some from. Luckily, it was at that time that I received my package with the Altruist Dermatologist Sunscreen, which was kindly gifted to me by the brand. Such a perfect timing, isn’t it?

As a pale person I am always on the look out for a good sunscreen which will not leave me greasy and will keep me from turning into a raging lobster with skin so sensitive that even the pressure from my shower makes it hurt. The main requirements I have when it comes to SPF are:

– fragrance-free;

– quick absorption;

– no greasy feeling;

– affordable;

– water resistant.

DianaoffDuty uses affiliate links and some items may have been gifted. This doesn't change my opinion.

For the past week I have been using the Altruist cream sunscreen SPF 50 and I can tell you that it checks all of the above. You can get it from Amazon here for £7.50 for 2x200ml. It has no smell, I have had no issues with it clogging my pores in any way (I’ve been using it on my face, too), it absorbs su-u-uper quickly (which leads me to think that it will not leave a gray tint on darker skin, but I am in no position to vouch for that), and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling. I put my makeup on directly after applying because it honestly feels like nothing on the skin.

Altruist Dermatologist Sunscreen has been formulated by two inspiring, ethically motivated altruists, who teamed up to produce the finest quality UV protection, for the lowest possible price, so everyone can afford to be safer – and apply more. „Cost should never be a factor when deciding whether or not to wear sunscreen, or how much or how often to apply it. Everyone should have a basic right to take the necessary precautions to reduce their risks of developing skin cancer,“ says skin cancer specialist and Altruist founder, Dr Birnie.

The Altruist Sunscreen comes also in an invisible spray form, which retails for just £9.99 for 2x200ml and also comes in both SPF 30 and SPF 50. They did inform me that the cream is better if you are going to use it on the face, so keep that in mind.

The brand is sold exclusively on Amazon. But you can also find and follow them on ТwitterFacebookand Instagram!

Overall, I am in love with this product and am super thankful to Altruist Dermatologist for giving me the opportunity to try it out. I will definitely be buying and trying out the spray on my vacation this year!

Have you ever tried the Altruist Sunscreen? If not, what is your favourite SPF product?

  3. Ahwe man, I always forget about sunscreen until that first burn of the season. I mean, I always purchase some but forget to put it on or take it with me. These sound great, the fact they’re a two pack and 100ml means they’re probably great to just toss one in your bag so you always have some with you whether you forget to put it on when going out or need some for re-applying. Non greasy is great. Nobody wants to feel like a slip and slide when the sun already makes you hot and sweaty. Well, for me anyways!

    1. They really are amazing and at an amazing price point! Definitely the best thing I have found x

  4. Hi did you get a tan whilst using this or does it act as a sunblock?

    1. I did not get a tan. But, keep in mind that I don’t get a tan at all usually, I only burn like a lobster lol

  5. Thank you x
