A/W 2017/2018 TRENDS: WHAT I AM WEARING
February 27, 2018
First of all, I am SO excited for it finally being autumn. I love autumn. I love the weather, I love baked pumpkin and conkers, and I love the cozy feeling of snuggling on the sofa with a blanket and a cup of tea. I. just. Love. It.
Because autumn is considered the most important season in fashion, I have vowed that from now on I will start incorporating different colours, styles and patterns in my wardrobe. Or at least I will do my best.
LIKE A FIRETRUCK
As a person with mainly black, white and grey pieces (exciting, I know), I can say that this trend both frustrates and excites me.
As a fake redhead, it is going to be an absolute STRUGGLE to wear red. I have started by wearing this striped t-shirt from Zara (baby steps), but I have fallen absolutely and utterly in LOVE with the below red suede jacket from Bershka.
70s PLAID
I love plaid. Any type of plaid. But I have always been a major fan of the grandad-ish, muted-coloured plaid. I love that blue and poopy (you can’t deny it) yellow plaid which Jenny Packham showed us with the gown. I will most likely be mixing the trends by wearing a power suit in a grey tone.
FISHNETS ARE NOT RESERVED FOR FISH
By now, the tomboyish looks of distressed denim and fishnets are a thing of the past. Jason Wu’s very office-appropriate interpretation is wearing fishnets by filling the blank space in between the heels and the trousers with them. I am going to give the trend a go with some tight fishnets and elegant trousers.
JEWELL-TONED VELVET
Does anyone even need an explanation on why this is the coolest thing ever? I feel like a royal wearing velvet. The yellow velvet dresses in the Jason Wu show are just so dreamy. But you can mix 3 trends together and go for the red Mango blazer, which is not that in-your-face like the golden-like yellow.
